When you visit your local car repair and tire service company in Loveland for a diagnostic inspection, do you know what you are getting? Do you even know what is, or should be, included in an inspection?
Here’s the truth, what gets inspected should depend on the car. Cars of a certain age, with a lot of wear and tear and outdated technology, are going to have a lot more moving parts than new cars with fancy computers running everything. And, unless you are certain about which features of your car are controlled by the computer and which are still heavily reliant on moving parts, you can’t know what to expect. Inspection list
- Tires, wheels, brakes, and bearings, including parking brake
- Suspension
- Drive train
- Oil, transmission, and other fluids
- Battery charge level and connections
- Engine performance – with most cars, this is a computerized test. If you’re driving a ‘68 Mustang, it’ll be a bit more involved.
- Belts and filters, including cabin air filters.
- Emissions
- Windshield wipers
- Spare tire
That’s not everything, but it covers the basics.
